Student Interview
Why did you choose this major?
"Because I love English!" To tell the truth, English was my worst subject when I was in junior high school. I got the lowest score on my first test and felt very frustrated. However, I used that frustration as motivation to study English hard, and as a result, I no longer felt bad about it, and before I knew it, English had become my best and favorite subject. From this experience, I wanted to continue studying English at university and be able to communicate freely in English without feeling a language barrier, so I chose this major.
What are you particularly focusing on learning?
The first is to acquire the ability to communicate in English. In addition to conversing in English with classmates and teachers, I want to improve my ability to accurately convey my thoughts through presentations and other activities. The second is a class called "Introduction to Hospitality." In this class, we mainly learn about the spirit of hospitality and manners as members of society. There were many opportunities to raise my hand and make presentations, and I feel that I have grown a lot as a person through these experiences.
