1Find a study abroad destination

There are various ways to choose, such as the language you want to learn, the country you are interested in, and the length of your study abroad period.


2Participate in thematic study abroad seminars and study abroad fairs

Gather information by attending various study abroad information sessions hosted by International Exchange Center.

I'm very interested in hearing about the experiences of my seniors!

Information sessions on study abroad programs by major and purpose are held twice a year.
You will be able to hear multiple explanations from your professor and former study abroad students at once, giving you the chance to think about specific study abroad plans.


3Consult with parents or relatives

Studying abroad is a big event not only for you but also for those around you. Use the information you have gathered to discuss the matter with your parents and relatives.


4Consult with International Exchange Center or a teacher at a partner school

By gathering information, you can gradually establish the study abroad style you desire.
At the same time, you will have worries and questions about studying abroad. If this happens to you, consult with university staff who have specialized knowledge about studying abroad.

5Applying to Study Abroad

Download the Study Abroad Application, Participation Request, Pledge Form, and Study Abroad Support Questionnaire from the Study Abroad General Information Site.
Please submit it to International Exchange Center.


6Study Abroad Selection

We would like to actively send students who wish to study abroad, but we are concerned about the applicants' academic performance, attendance,
Faculty members in your faculty will decide whether or not to grant you permission to study abroad based on your language level.



Preparation period (Summer departure: April to July / Spring departure: September to January)

7Travel information sessions, pre-study abroad seminars

We will inform you of the procedures required for each study abroad destination.

Don't get into any trouble at your study abroad destination!

Before you depart, a pre-study abroad seminar will be held.
This course is aimed at all students planning to study abroad, and is packed with useful advice from experienced instructors on topics such as local research and goal setting, crisis management, and how to adapt to different cultures.


Various application procedures

After applying to study abroad at a university, applicants will have to go through various procedures.
Submitting applications to study abroad destinations, applying for visas for your destination country, arranging air tickets and insurance, etc.

Our study abroad staff are always available to provide advice to students who wish to study abroad.
Once your study abroad destination has been decided, the following procedures will begin:
・Prepare documents to submit to your study abroad destination
・Applying for and obtaining a visa
・Air ticket procedures and arrangements, etc.
The staff International Exchange Center will support you through the complicated procedures for studying abroad. They will also be in charge of communication with your host institution, so you can rest assured that they will take care of it.

9Baggage preparation

The items you need to bring will vary depending on the living environment at your study abroad destination.
Make sure to listen carefully to the travel preparation briefing and start preparing early, as it will cover how you will be able to get by, including mobile phones, handling money locally, clothing, medicine, etc.



Study period (4 months to November)

10Departure (Summer departure: August to October / Spring departure: February to April)

Once you have completed all the necessary procedures and preparations at the university and abroad, it's time to depart. Head to the airport with a strong desire to study abroad in your heart!
Be careful not to leave anything behind.


11arrival

After arriving at your destination, you will travel to your study abroad destination using the method planned during the pre-study briefing.
Each study abroad destination will have different homestay options or student dormitories, but once you arrive, the first thing you'll need to do is get your daily life in order.

12Study Abroad Program Begins

An orientation will be held at the study abroad destination. You will be told about classes and life at the study abroad destination. After a few days of orientation, classes will finally begin.
Don't hesitate to ask questions if you don't understand something.

After returning to Japan

13Submitting study abroad reports and grades

After returning home, you will prepare a report (study abroad experience) based on your study abroad experience.
In addition, in order to have credits recognized, you will need to submit a transcript from your study abroad institution and go through the credit recognition process.

14Presentation of experiences at the Study Abroad Fair
