Student-led activities that contribute to the world

Through iFloor activities, I was able to venture out into the world and learn valuable things.
Reitaku University offers plenty of opportunities for you to gain experience.
Classes and seminars in collaboration with local communities and companies,
Extracurricular activities that have been continued by student volunteers, etc.
The students are interested,
and it's full of opportunities to get serious.

Case 1National Model United Nations Conference

More than 1,000 students from over 70 universities around the world participate in the Model United Nations Conference, which involves debates, negotiations, and the adoption of resolutions in a manner similar to that of the United Nations. The Reitaku University team has participated in the main conference, which is held every fall in Washington DC, since 2011. Each team is assigned a country to be in charge of and discussions are held, so high-level international communication skills are tested, including not only language skills such as English, but also the writing and reading comprehension skills required to prepare preliminary proposals, and the ability to understand the background and culture of each country.
Through their activities in Model UN, students develop "negotiating skills" by thinking about what kind of logic they can use to persuade others and constantly considering whether their opinions are consistent. They also develop "commitment" by thinking about how they should act to maximize the role they have been given. And by experiencing the "world stage" firsthand, they reflect on themselves and use this to grow to the next stage.

Classes linked to Model United Nations: Introduction to UN Studies / Advanced UN Studies

At the National Model United Nations Conference, students must be able to quickly discuss international issues in English with students from around the world. At the same time, they must understand international topics as if they were their own. This class is an attempt to put this training into practice in the classroom. Each time, students will learn about the latest news and topics, as well as the goals of the SDGs, deepen their understanding of the United Nations and various international issues in English, and then have actual discussions.

Case 2ASPIRE Reitaku

"ASPIRE" is a student organization established at various universities in Japan and overseas, which conducts a wide variety of learning activities on the theme of SDGs (the international goals adopted by the United Nations for 2016 to 2030). Only a few schools in Japan are participating in this activity, and Reitaku University is one of them. Since 2013, it has been operating as ASPIRE REITAKU, and on the international stage, as a member of ASPIRE JAPAN, it is engaged in international activities such as collaborative projects with ASPIRE KOREA.
