Aiming to develop "glocal" professionals who serve both global and local needs

Reitaku University has been working on various educational reforms with the aim of "cultivating dignified global and local human resources." The dignity that our university values stems from the founding principles of "unity of knowledge and virtue *1," "unity of Moral and Economy *2," and "Three Way Satisfaction *2." We want our students to grow into individuals who not only acquire knowledge but also possess high morality and social skills, and who can contribute to the world and their local communities. The university-wide foundational education program, "The Reitaku Standard," is based on four pillars: "global education," "moral education," "information and data science education," and "career education," and together with liberal arts education, it cultivates the skills necessary for the coming era. We hope that students will acquire dignity and the ability to forge their own future through practical learning and active learning, such as experience in real-world situations, collaboration with peers, and experience in formulating questions and deriving answers for themselves. Furthermore, in 2024, we established Faculty of Business Administration and Faculty of Engineering, further expanding opportunities for interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary learning. Leveraging the strengths of our single campus, we will continue to enrich the environment in which students can meet diverse peers and faculty, learn together, and grow together.

*1: This is the idea that "excellent abilities only truly demonstrate their value when supported by high moral standards." Knowledge and morality should be harmonized and function like the two wheels of a cart, and only then can they be useful to society.
*2: The founder, Chikuro Hiroike (Doctor of Law), advocated the idea unity of Moral and Economy morality and economics, stating that "morality and economics are one." More practically, this translates to the "Three Way Satisfaction" principle, meaning "good for oneself, good for the other party, and good for third parties." This idea dictates that everyone involved—oneself, the other party, and third parties—receives a reasonable benefit, thereby achieving social justice and welfare, and realizing the happiness of people and peace in society.
