  • Students will acquire the ability to select and interpret the overwhelming amount of information available to them, as well as methods for analyzing information, while remaining aware of ever-changing trends in international affairs and the situation around the world.

    Three points

    • Learn about trends in the international community and the characteristics of countries and regions
    • Develop language skills (practical use of English and Japanese) to filter and interpret the overwhelming amount of information that surrounds us
    • Cultivate the ability to analyze, formulate policies, and disseminate information

Flow of the four years

  • First year

    Cultivating understanding of the international community and the ability to communicate

    Students will learn the basics of international information studies, international society theory, and area studies to understand the structure and trends of the international community. In addition, through "Basic Seminar B/C," students will acquire the ability to express their own opinions, how to lead discussions, and practical methods for planning and problem solving.

  • Second Year

    Improve analytical skills and insight to interpret international situations

    In addition to learning about world cultures and societies, students will gain a deeper understanding of international affairs and develop insight into them. To this end, we aim to improve students' ability to analyze various information and to acquire the ability to interpret knowledge and information logically and critically.

  • 3rd and 4th year

    Learn about current affairs and international relations from multiple perspectives and apply them to your future

    Using Japanese and English newspaper articles, journals, white papers, etc., students will develop the ability to analyze current affairs. In addition, by coming into contact with societies and politics from around the world, students will be able to objectively understand the international community, where various interests and dynamics are at work, and explain the strengths and challenges of each. Furthermore, students will aim to apply what they have learned to their own lifestyles and future goals.

  • International Information Analysis Advanced A

    In the 21st century, the liberal international order is collapsing, and conflicts and their seeds are emerging all over the world. The Russia-Ukraine war that began in 2022 has become a war of attrition similar to World War I, with the United States supporting Ukraine and affecting other countries. In this class, we will read and understand the Defense of Japan White Paper and consider the changes in the strategic environment facing Japan, such as Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the competition between the United States and China, and the territorial dispute in the South China Sea, and then analyze Japan's defense system.

    Instructor: Lecturer Hiromi Sato

    This class will help students understand a wide range of issues in the field of international relations, including politics, economics, diplomacy, security, and regional affairs, from the perspective of the structure of international society, and will use past events and current issues as material to understand basic concepts and analytical frameworks. This class will help students gain a deeper understanding of the international situation as reported by the media, and will develop the ability to understand and have insight into the international situation in order to discuss it with others, thereby nurturing the knowledge and "eyes" necessary to be an international citizen.

  • International Order and International Activities

    This class aims to deepen students' understanding of international law and the international society in which it functions through the study of the international legal system. Students will attempt to approach specific conflicts and events occurring in the international community from an international legal perspective.
